Easy Method to Stop Windows 10 Automatic Update

Windows 10 is known to get automatic updates on a monthly basis. Some of these updates are huge in size and require lots of bandwidth. Moreover, Microsoft doesn’t allow us to deny an update. Fortunately, this is not a problem anymore. With this simple tutorial, you will be able to pause Window 10 updates permanently.

Note: This method only works for Wi-Fi connections.

1. First thing you need to do is click – Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks.

2. Now click on the “Properties” of the connected Wi-Fi network from the list of networks.

3. Turn-on the “Set as metered connection” option.

4. That’s it.

From now on, Windows 10 will no longer use this particular Wi-Fi network to download updates and patches. In future, if you decide to download the updates, then just turn-off the “Set as metered connection” option.
